Takarazuka GRAPH Oct. 2002 - Variety Question: 5 Stage

Todoroki Yuu
Q & A Interview

Like

>> Color?
I like lots of colors, but to give an example of one I like more strongly: black.

>> Musical Genre?
When I'm paying attention to clothes and accessories, I usually put together things which are natural and black.

>>Smell?
Soap-like smells.

>>SMAP Member?
I like them all (laugh).

>>TV Show?
"Sazae-san."

>>Fairy Tale?
"Hansel and Gretel." I've had a dream before of entering a forest to look for a friend captured by a villain, and dropping bread as I walked so I wouldn't lose my way (laugh).

>>Shopping Spot?
I haven't really chosen one.

>>Jewel?
Diamonds. I like other stones, but the one that catches my eye the most is diamonds.

>>Tea?
I like genmai tea with maccha in it e.n.: brown rice tea with green tea in it. Lately the number of kinds of teas has really increased, but for me, anything without maccha in it is no good. It's the flavor that soothes me the most.

>>Oden Ingredient?
Konyaku and daikon.

If

>>If one day all the seats in the audience were filled with men?
Lately, there have been a lot of men in the audience, so I think I'd be able to continue performing as normal.

>>If you were a man?
I'm not strong, but if I were a man I think I'd have an outdoor job that required strength (laugh).

>>If you woke up one morning the size of a thumb?
I'd go between all the cracks in my furniture to see if I was doing a thorough job of cleaning (laugh).

>>If you could build a summer house wherever you liked?
South France.

>>If you could change the capital city?
I think it's best in Tokyo.

>>If you could gain any skill?
It's not really a skill, but I'd get a driving license. When I was a junior member I got my practice license, but then I got busy and wasn't able to continue, and letting the license I had my hands on escape was a hard experience. If there was some way to get it easily, I'd definitely want it (laugh).

>>If you could speak in a language other than Japanese?
French.

>>If you were in the Olympics, which event would you do?
I wouldn't really want to participate (laugh). I think there's a huge difference between just watching and actually participating. But, although I've never skated, I suppose I'd like to try figure skating. I want to do magnificent spins in lovely costumes (laugh).

>>If you were invited onto Bistro SMAP, what would you order?
I can't think of anything in particular, so I think anything would be good (laugh).

>>If you had your own TV show?
I have a show with lots of animals (except insects and reptiles). If I could, mammals (laugh).

â–²orâ–

>>Tokyo or Osaka?
They both have good parts, so I can't chose one.

>>Summer or Winter?
Summer. Because my birthday is in the summer (laugh).

>>A High Place or a Dark Place?
I hate both! (laugh)

>>Black Tailcoat or White Tailcoat?
Black Tailcoat.

>>An Anywhere Door or a Helicopter Hat?
An Anywhere Door.

>>A Woman Who Causes Rain or Causes Sunlight?
I've been told often that I'm a woman who causes sunlight.

>>Hiroshi Kume or Tetsuya Chikushi? (News Anchors)
I think they're both good news casters, so I can't chose.

>>Meat or Fish?
By an almost imperceptible margin: fish. I like meat too.

>>Sauce or Soy Sauce?
Both. (laugh)

>>Anko or Chocolate?
I like them both a little bit.

Want

>>If you were on a deserted island, what one thing would you want?
An Anywhere Door. (e.n.: A famous door from the "Doraemon" cartoon that can be used to travel anywhere.)

>>Something you have to take with you on vacation?
Mineral water to drink during the day.

>>What do you want to eat for your last dinner?
A delicious ochazuke (e.n.: rice with tea poured over it) with pickles and umeboshi in it. I'd want to eat something simple.

>>If you have white rice then you want this!
Delicious ajitsuke nori (e.n.: seasoned, dried sea-weed flakes used for flavoring. I agree!).

>>What movie do you want to see?
Nothing in particular right now.

>>When you're tired but can't allow yourself to sleep, what do you want to deal with it?
I manage my own time, and I take tough measures when it comes to sleeping (laugh).

>>What do you want the most right now?
A bigger heart.

>>What ability do you want the most right now?
Nothing, really.

>>What kind of housework machine would you want?
A machine that can make the distinction between things I need and things I don't need (laugh). I'm the type who deosn't throw things out, so the amount of things in my house is multiplying steadily.

>>What's necessary for a Takarasienne?
"Kiyoku, Tadashiku, Utsukushiku" ("Nobility, Righteousness, Beauty" — The Takarazuka Motto)

Time

>>Average time you're in the bath?
I've never timed it, so I'm not sure, but probably between 20 and 40 minutes.

>>Average time you sleep?
My ideal is ten hours. The reality is about 8 hours.

>>Speed you talk at?
Slowly.

>>After you get into bed, how long does it take you to fall asleep?
If I'm having trouble falling asleep, I've looked at the clock and an hour has gone by, but generally I fall asleep easily.

>>When your alarm goes off, how long does it take you to get up?
I wake up right away. I wake up easily, but when we're in the middle of a show run I get tired and can't pull myself together as well. There was a time when I turned off all of three alarm clocks (laugh).

>>From the time you wake up, how long does it take before you leave?
I like to take the time to digest my breakfast, and I have to wake myself up three hours before I need to use my voice.

>>What's your favorite time of the day?
When I don't have to think of anything and can spend time staring into space. I decide my own bedtime, so I've got the intervening hours until I have to sleep, and those empty hours are my favorite.

>>How long will you wait for someone?
I hate being made to wait for people, so 10 minutes. After 15, I go home (laugh).

>>Your favorite kind of watch?
A stainless steel watch. I prefer metal over leather.

>>If there were 26 hours in a day, what would you do with the other 2 hours?
I would practice. Because if there's a little bit of surplus time, I'd like to thoroughly look over the lyrics and melodies. If I were off, I'd want to tidy things in my house or draw a rough sketch, but I'd probably end up sleeping (laugh).
